Abstract: The cultivation of top-notch talents through the "Combined Bachelor's/Master's Degree Program (Combined BS/MS Program)" is an important part of China's rejuvenation through science and education, and the training of compound talents is an important aspect of promoting national construction. The training of top-notch talents in Germany with the Combined BS/MS Program has been influenced by both rationalism and utilitarianism. In terms of the top-notch talents training model, Germany has gradually formed a "dual system" which highlights career orientation and focuses on both theoretical and practical research, teaching and research, and the development of critical abilities, and has therefore laid a foundation for Germany's era of industry 4.0. By drawing on the advanced experience in the training of top-notch talents in Germany, we must improve the professional tendency of higher education, form a teaching method that attaches equal importance to theory and practicality, and emphasize unified principle of scientific research and teaching to promote key competence development.
