Characteristics of the Epigraphic Seal Calligraphy in Ming Dynasty: Taking the Memorial Tablets of Zhang Zhichun's Clan in Baoshan as Examples

Abstract:

Epitaph is an important kind of stone carving. The seals and seal-covers of the epitaphs of Zhang Zhichun's clan in

Baoshan in the Ming Dynasty fully embodies the artistic characteristics of the small seal calligraphy in the middle and early stages of
the Ming Dynasty, and have reached a high artistic level. Through an in-depth analysis of the style of the seal scripts, it is discovered
that the seal calligraphers of the Ming Dynasty had made efforts to seek innovation and change on the basis of inheriting the previous
generations of small seal scripts.
