Abstract: Compilation works emphasize the selection and arrangement of contents. In practice, new types of works with uncertain
attributes of rights which are classified as compilation works will lead to unlimited expansion of the scope of compilation works and
unlimited expansion of the scope of rights protection, thereby affecting the use and dissemination of the works in the public domain.
To ensure that the scope of rights of compilation works does not conflict with the attributes of the public domain, so as to maintain the
balance between the two, it is necessary to clarify the right boundaries of compilation works. From the perspective of the public domain,
exploring the right boundary rules of compilation works can summarize the specific normative contents, so as to give the compilation
works appropriate copyright protection.
