Abstract:

Abstract Objective To analyze the influencing factors of new fractures after osteoporotic vertebral compression fracture OVCF.Methods A total of 93 OVCF patients 115 vertebrae admitted to the Department of Orthopedics of the Sixth Affiliated Hospital of Kunming Medical University from January 2017 to January 2020 were selected as the research objects which concluded 26 males 35 vertebrae and 67 females80 vertebrae. All patients underwent vertebroplasty. Logistic regression model was used to analyze the influencing factors of postoperative new fractures. Results Among the 31 patients with new fractures 4 of who were male and 27 were female 11 cases had adjacent vertebral body fractures and 33 cases had non-adjacent vertebral body fractures and 2 cases with femoral neck fractures. Logistic analysis showed that gender age BMI anti-osteoporosis treatment and the number of vertebral bodies operated were the influencing factors of new fractures and the differences were statistically significantP<0.05.ConclusionFemale age75 years BMI 22 kg/m2 no anti-osteoporosis treatment and more than one vertebral body required surgery have a higher risk of new fractures.
