Qualitative Study on the Cognitive Status of Palliative Care in a Municipal Hospital of Kunming

Abstract:

Abstract Objective To explore the awareness attitudes and demands of nurses in the Anning Care Unit for palliative care.Methods From May 2019 to May 2020 15 nurses in the nursing ward of a tertiary A hospital were conducted one-on-one in-depth interviews. The conversation materials were sorted out and important information was extracted repetitive views were identified and coded and the coded views were assembled into themes. Results Interviewees lack effective nursing methods in the aspects of psychological social and spiritual problems of patients and their families. A comparative study with Swedish palliative care can effectively improve clinical application capabilities. Conclusion The government should strengthen the social publicity of palliative care carry out standardized and systematic teaching for medical students and medical staff. And improving the distribution of medical resources and support as well as guarantee are the decisive factors for accelerating its development.
