Effect of Prescription Pre-Review System on the Qualified Rate of Outpatient and Emergency PPIs Prescriptions

Abstract:

Objective To investigate the effect of prescription pre-review system on the qualified rate of PPIs prescriptions in the First People's Hospital of Qujing. Methods1 700 prescriptions of PPIs used in outpatient and emergency in this hospital from April to June 2019 without prescription pre-review system and 1 590 prescriptions of PPIs used in outpatient and emergency from April to June 2020 after the application of prescription pre-review system were selected for prescription review and analysis. ResultsAfter the use of prescription pre-review system the qualified rate of PPIs prescriptions in this hospital increased by 24.25%and the types of irrational drug use in PPIs prescriptions decreased. ConclusionThe implementation of prescription pre-review system significantly reduces the irrational use of PPIs in outpatient and emergency in this hospital greatly improves the qualified rate of PPIs prescriptions in outpatient and emergency departments of this hospital and promotes the clinical rational drug use.
