Abstract: Objective To investigate the expression of serum progranulinPGRN in patients with Graves diseaseGD and its correlation with interleukin-17IL-17 and interleukin-10IL-10. Methods The serum PGRN IL-17 and IL-10 levels of GD patients and healthy subjects were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay and the correlation between PGRN and IL-17 and IL-10 was analyzed by Spearman correlation analysis. Results Compared with the healthy subjects the serum levels of PGRN and IL-17 in GD patients were significantly higher while the level of IL-10 was significantly lower with statistically significance P<0.01. The results of Spearman correlation analysis showed that serum PGRN levels in GD patients were significantly positively correlated with IL-17 levels and negatively correlated with IL-10 levels. Compared with before treatment the levels of PGRN and IL-17 in serum of GD patients treated with 131I decreased significantly while the level of IL-10 increased significantly with statistically significanceP<0.01. Conclusion The level of serum PGRN in GD patients is elevated and it is significantly correlated with the levels of IL-17 and IL-10 suggesting that it may be involved in the occurrence and development of the disease.
