Abstract: The comparison auxiliary word “仿 (fang)” in Xinhua dialect in Hunan province is quite distinctive in form, meaning and function with a strong oral tint. In terms of form, there are such forms as “X-fang”, “Dangde X-fang” or “Dangde X-ge fang”, “Xiangge X-fang” or “Xiangge X-ge fang”, “Zuoge + negative word + VP-ge fang”, and “Xiangge + negative word + VP-ge fang”. Semantically, it mainly expresses similar meaning, and pragmatically deduces the preset meaning. In terms of function, it has the function of tracing and evaluation.
