Textual Research on the Origin of Place Names with Me³³ in Bai Language

Among the Bai language place names in Heqing area of Yunnan, there is a group of ancient ones with “me³³” , which can be translated into “mei (渼: ripple)” or “mei (美: beauty)”. By studying the implication of “me³³” and “mei” in the Bai-language and Chinese, the pertinence between Bai language place names with “me³³” of Yunnan Heqing and Chinese place names with “mei” of Shaanxi Huyi can be established. Furthermore, it can be deduced that that “me³³” which appears in place names in Bai, and “mei (ripple)” which is used in place names in the Guanzhong region of Shaanxi province, are paronyms, originating from the Xianbei or Diqiang language in the Wei Jin and Southern and Northern dynasties.

Rituals play a vital role in integrating local communities. Within Jianchuan county, two Acarya rituals, i.e., the Birthday Ceremony and the Hell-Opening Ceremony”, are of great significance to the Bai people, embodying the duality of life and death, meat and vegetable, yin and yang, acquaintance and stranger, form and emptiness, construction and deconstruction. By utilizing symbolic interaction theory and conducting field research, this paper analyzes the underlying logic and mechanism of these two rituals using the framework of "structure" and "situational narration." Through comparative research, it becomes clear that the seemingly opposing yet unified nature of the Birthday Ceremony and Hell-Opening Ceremony is the result of the interaction and combination of the macroscopic social and cultural structure with the microscopic "situation-narrative" of the Bai people.

After the demise of the original drum community, Nanbao Village and other Miao villages along the Qingshui River chose to integrate into another drum club as a support and shelter, in order to better inherit the local Miao culture and obtain a new opportunity for development. The difficult choice of the traditional Miao culture in the face of pressure also shows its strong vitality. When faced with the Miao drum society culture which is more powerful than their own, the immigrants choose to actively integrate into that and become a part of the local Miao culture. This dual evolution reveals the adaptability and inclusiveness of different cultures.

A Study on the Features of Population Structure and Its Problems Among Minorities with Less Population in China: Based on the Seventh Census

The problem of population structure is a key factor which limits development of minorities with less population. Based on the data of the seventh census, it is found that there are some structure differences including urbanization level, transfer speed of rural labor, education level, sex ratio as well as age ratio. Furthermore, some ethnic groups with small populations have prominent problems such as low urbanization level, slow labor transfer, low education level, gender imbalance and high aging degree. Accordingly, this paper puts forward some suggestions, including promoting the construction of cities with characteristics, improving the employment environment, optimizing the allocation of educational resources, and formulating incentive policies for cross-ethnic marriages and new modes of diversified elderly care are to solve the structural problems in the development of ethnic groups with small populations.

Realizing the sustainable development of resettlement residents and effective governance of relocation communities for poverty alleviation and resettlement is the proper meaning of consolidating and expanding the achievements of poverty alleviation. Based on the embeddedness theory, this paper uses the research method of grounded theory to extract the embedding path of structure, function, relationship and cognition from the practical experience of party building leading community governance in Yongfu Community, Lanping County, Yunnan Province. And it summarizes the practical experience of party building leading embedment and resettlement communities through the embedding path, that is, to achieve effective coverage of grassroots party organizations to build a community governance system led by party building, give full play to the advantages and functions of local party organizations to integrate the element resources of community governance. Measures such as connecting the emotions of diverse governance subjects in the community, building a friendly and trusting field relationship, and cultivating the sense of community of community residents to activate the endogenous driving force of community governance are aimed at providing theoretical thinking and experience reference for guidance in Party building embedded in relocation communities for poverty alleviation and resettlement in ethnic areas.

Rural environmental governance is faced with the plight of insufficient participation of farmers, and it is common to see governments working without public participation. From the environmental governance experience of three provincial beautiful rural demonstration villages in Changde, northwest Hunan province, with the support of local party organizations, the environmental sanitation autonomous organizations can attract rural “active citizens” to take the initiative to assume public responsibilities, and form the “third field” of cooperation between the Party and the people which is the reconstruction of the traditional “dual-track politics” and plays an important role in preventing the excessive bureaucracy of local governance, promoting the interaction between the government and the people improving the efficiency of the people’s independent governance, and stimulating the enthusiasm of the people to participate in public affairs from the source. By using LISREL 8.80 and AMOS 22, this paper collects1037 valid consumer samples in Yunnan province to build the generalized model of Yunnan consumer recognition of Yunnan time-honored brands. Through the model construction, the consumer cognition of Yunnan time-honored brands, the path of brand word-of-mouth formation and various influencing factors in the word-of-mouth formation process can be understood. This paper puts forward the marketing improvement suggestions for the future development of Yunnan time-honored brands, thus contributing to the brand construction, brand communication, brand recognition enhancement, good reputation construction, Yunnan local brand protection and the inheritance of excellent traditional Chinese culture.

The comparison auxiliary word “仿 (fang)” in Xinhua dialect in Hunan province is quite distinctive in form, meaning and function with a strong oral tint. In terms of form, there are such forms as “X-fang”, “Dangde X-fang” or “Dangde X-ge fang”, “Xiangge X-fang” or “Xiangge X-ge fang”, “Zuoge + negative word + VP-ge fang”, and “Xiangge + negative word + VP-ge fang”. Semantically, it mainly expresses similar meaning, and pragmatically deduces the preset meaning. In terms of function, it has the function of tracing and evaluation.

This paper recounts the history of the compilation of Contemporary Chinese Dictionary (CCD), and studies the problems in blueprint of CCD from several angles. It is believed that CCD is fully absorbing the fine tradition of Chinese dictionaries in the past dynasties and drawing lessons from foreign dictionaries. Then the paper points out that the blueprint of CCD is Mandarin Chinese Dictionary while paraphrasing model is more based on Oxford Advanced Learner’s English Dictionary (ALD).

City image is an important part of national image, and the study of international communication on city image is of positive significance to the construction of national image. Focusing on the city image in international communication, this paper comprehensively uses theories of applied linguistics, journalism and communication, and the data of international news Corpus NOW Corpus and self-built Hangzhou International Communication Corpus are collected and analyzed by using the corpus research method. The combined descriptive-complement structure “zhe NV de C” is a high-frequent format used in modern spoken Chinese, with a variety of forms and semantic types of complements, which often results in a variety of learning errors such as wrong addition, wrong order and wrong substitution when second language learners learn it. Among them, complex adjectival complements are one of the most common types of complements used by international students. To address these types of errors and the reasons behind them, such as negative native language transfer and generalization of knowledge of the target language, teaching strategies such as contextual teaching, enhanced repetition and gradual progression should be adopted to better help second language learners internalize the grammatical knowledge of Chinese complements.
