After
years of continuous implementation of dropout control actions, the rural
primary and secondary schools in China’s remote, alpine, and ethnic minority
areas have accumulated valuable practical experience in the areas including
leaders taking the lead, insisting on controlling dropout according to law,
strengthening management, teaching reform to control dropout, emotional
protection and so on. At the same time, it also highlights many problems that
need to be further solved, which are mainly manifested as: the effect of
overall planning and consideration needs to be improved, the execution ability
needs to be improved, external factors interfere are more, and the ideological
dynamics are not sufficiently emphasized, etc. The direction of rural primary
and secondary schools’ future measures to control dropouts is as follows: to
form a cooperative community between schools and major departments guaranteed
by the construction of the Alliance for Dropout Control, to promote “Internet +”
to help control dropout, and to pay attention to the ideological dynamics of
returning students.
