Abstract: Open experimental teaching is one of the important means to cultivate innovative talents and improve students' quality. It provides an opportunity for the reform of experimental teaching. The composition of architectural space is an essential skill for students majoring in architecture， and open experiments provide a good platform for the reform of architectural space reconstruction teaching. Firstly， this article designed two teaching modules： manual model and computer model， with three training sessions for each module. Secondly， practical teaching was carried out based on two teaching modules， combining different themes to train students' ability to reconstruct and innovate architectural space. Finally， the experimental teaching effect was analyzed， and it was found that the architectural space reconstruction teaching based on open experiments enhanced students' abilities in self-learning and innovation， and improved the teaching effect.
