Abstract: Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China（CPC）, The CPC Central Committee with Xi Jinping as the core has made the consolidation of a strong sense of community for the Chinese nation as the focus of the Party's ethnic work and
word in ethnic areas in the new era. Ethnic journals are entrusted with the mission of telling the stories of the Chinese national
community and vigorously promoting the sense of the national community. Meanwhile, the rapid development of technology exerts a profound influence on the transformation of traditional media ecosystem. Under this historical background, the editing work of ethnic journals has to face these good opportunities and major challenges. They should do something to perfect the editing work in the new era, such as strengthening the competence of journal editing team, strictly controlling the ideologies in journal editing work, using new technologies to tell the stories of the Chinese national community, and building three-dimensional publicity and communication platforms of convergence media.
