Abstract: Objective: To gain a deeper understanding of the types and structures of sesquiterpenoids in the extract of Dobinea
delavayi, and to provide scientific basis for the development and utilization of this plant. Methods: Silica gel and Sephadex LH-20
column chromatography were used to separate and purify sesquiterpenoids from 80% ethanol extract of dried rhizome of D. delavayi,
and the compounds were structurally characterized on the basis of physicochemical properties and modern spectroscopic techniques.
Results: Six sesquiterpenoid compounds were isolated and identified as: 4β, 10β, 15-trihydroxy-aromadendrane-10, 15-acetonide
(1), 4α-hydroxy-10β-methoxy-1β-H, 5β-H-aromadendrane (2), 4β, 10β⁃aromadendranediol (3), spathulenol (4), 2-oxoguaia-1
(10), 3, 5, 7(11), 8-pentaen-12, 8-olide (5), and taraxacin (6). Conclusion: D. delavayi contains aromadendrane sesquiterpenoids
and guaiane sesquiterpenoids. This study provides a research basis for a deeper understanding of the chemical quality of D. delavayi.
