The Innovation of MTI Talent Training Model in Ethnic Minority Area in the AI Era:#br# From the Perspective of National Translation Capacity

Abstract:  With the arrival of the AI era, especially the emergence of ChatGPT, the translation major has been greatly impacted. Local
universities in ethnic minority areas urgently need to revamp their existing MTI talent training models. From the perspective of national translation capability and taking the MTI talent training in ethnic minority area universities as the research object, this paper explores the construction of a new model for MTI talent training in the AI era. It is proposed to closely combine the characteristics of the AI era and the regional characteristics of ethnic minority areas, conform to the needs of cultivating national translation capacity, and start from the design of the MTI training program to construct an innovative model: to cultivate high-quality translation professionals with "good political character, solid linguistic skills, distinctive advantages in specialized features, good technical skills in translation, strong sense of language service for translators, and strong critical thinking skills".
