Abstract:  This research takes the Thai language major of D University in Y Province as an example to investigate the construction of
first-class undergraduate majors in non-common languages in local universities against the backdrop of new liberal arts. By analyzing
the successful experiences of the university in talent cultivation, curriculum system and teaching methods, it uncovers the effective
strategies when facing challenges. The research emphasizes the significance of collaborative cooperation and scientific leadership
among various departments within the university, and offers practical experiences and inspirations for the construction of first-class
undergraduate majors in less-commonly taught languages in other local universities.
