Optimization of the Extraction Process of Bergenin from Rodgersia pinnata

Objective: To optimize the extraction technology of bergenin from Rodgersia pinnata Hemsl. Methods: The extraction
technology of bergenin from Rodgersia pinnata Hemsl was optimized by orthogonal design taking the content of bergenin as index with the solvent concentration, the amount of solvent, the extraction time and extraction times as investigation factors. Results: The optimal extraction technology of bergenin from Rodgersia pinnata Hemsl was as 60% methanol as solvent, 20 mL of solvent amount, 20 min of extraction time, and 3 times of extraction. Conclusin: The optimum extracting technology is simple, feasible, stable and reproducible, and it serves as theoretical reference for further development and utilization of Rodgersia pinnata Hemsl.
