Objective: To provide a basis for clinical selection of antifungal drugs through vaginal candida antifungal susceptibility
test. Methods: We measured the vaginal candida antifungal susceptibility (minimal inhibitory concentration, MIC) to fluconazole (FCZ), ketoconazole (KCZ), 5-fluorocytosine (5-FC) and amphotericin B (AMB) by using Broth microdilution method. Results: The resistance rates of 45 strains vaginal candida from healthy subjects to antifungal drug FCZ, KCZ, 5-FC, AMB were 8.89%, 6.67%,6.67% and 2.22% respectively. And the sensitive rates were 80%,84.44%, 91.11%, 97.78% respectively. One strain of C. krusei is resistant to FCZ, KCZ and 5-FC while another strain was simultaneous resistant to KCZ and 5-FC. There were no significance differences in all 45 strains of candida in antifungal drugs resistant rate. The sensitivity of Candida to AMB was higher than that of FCZ (P=0.008). The sensitivity of Candida to AMB was higher than that of KCZ (P=0.027). There were no significant differences among rest drugs in sensitive rate (P>0.05). Conclusion: The above four kinds of commonly used clinical antifungal drugs can be selected to treat vaginal candidasis, but should be aware that some strains are sensitive and resistant with dose-dependent manner.
