Reaction and Countermeasure of the Medieval British Government to Black Death

Organizations from both the British church and the secular world took many countermeasures to preserve the normal
ruling order when black death raged the British Isles. Christian church which had charisma and control to the society in the medieval
European world would be challenged first when plague came. The secular world led by the British King also took measures when
black death whipped the country and therefore deserved great attention. The basic concept of the government then was to exert the
role of government and "do one's level best and leave the rest to God's will".
