Water Quality Detection of the Drinking Water from a Town in Binchuan County

Abstract:

Objective: To understand the status of drinking water quality from a town in Binchuan, and provide a reference for rural
drinking water safety management. Methods: Eight villages of a town in Binchuan County were selected as sampling points, 14 parameters in 32 water samples were detected according to the Standard Test Method of Drinking Water and the Drinking Water Health Standard (GB/T5750-2006). Results: The nitrate nitrogen and ammonia nitrogen pollution were serious, both were with exceeding standard rate of 100%;93.75% of the samples were low in pH, the percent of pass rate was 6.25%. The percent of pass rate were 100% in total hardness, TDS, nitrite nitrogen and fluoride. Iron, manganese, copper, zinc, cadmium, lead, chromium was never checked out. Conclusion: Some detected indexes were shown polluted in drinking water of the town in Binchuan. We should strengthen the health and environmental protective awareness, and enhance harmless management of the feces.
