Abstract:

Objective: To investigate the chronic respiratory system disease patients quit rate method. Methods: 60 smokers with
chronic respiratory system disease were randomly selected from Dali University Affiliated Hospital inpatients from September to December, 2012. With stratified random sampling method, 30 cases (intervention group)were as control group and 30 cases as intervention group. Intervention group received behavioral interventions in the system, while the control system did not receive it. Two groups of subjects were the status of smoking for one year following up. Results:intervention group quit rate was 63.3%(19/30);control group quit rate was 36.7%(11/30); the difference has statistical meaning, P<0.05. Conclusion: Intervention group quit rate is higher than the control group with statistical significance. Prochaska proposed theoretical model of behavior change in stages, telephone follow-up, exercise guidance, and psychological intervention, which may be the references or effective measures to improve
the success rate of smoking cessation in patients with chronic respiratory diseases.
