Abstract: Since the eighteenth national congress, general secretary Xi Jinping, based on the new situation of global and domestic development,has placed emphasis on developing the sense of community for Chinese nation on several occaions. The theoretical origin of the sense of community for Chinese nation comes from the thought of community of classical Marxist wri ters, the community theory of Marxist sinicization and the traditional Chinese thought of community. The sense of community for the Chinese nation contains the value of safeguarding national reunification and unity, contributng to the realization of the Chinese dream of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, and promoting exchanges among all ethnic groups. At present, it is necessary to further explore and innovate the path of forging the sense of community for Chinese nation by solidifying the political foundation,consolidating the material foundation,tying the cultural bond tight,and breaking down the social barriers.
