STUDY ON HOLIDAYS WITH PAY ACT 1938 IN BRITAIN AND ITS IMPLICATIONS

Abstract: Holidays with pay is a fundamental right of labours,and an important factor in building harmonious labour relations and embodying the man-centered concept of development.As one of the earliest countries accepting and practicing holidays with pay,Britain issued its first Holidays with Pay Act in 1938.British paid holiday practice reveals that paid holiday for all labours is an unavoidable trend with economic development.But it takes time for it to become an effective policy.In the process,collective bargaining is an important means to win such labour rights as holiday with pay.
