Reflections on Vocational Education Development
in the Context of New Situation

Abstract:

Vocational education,as an important support of industrial structure adjustments,has played a significant role in implementing strategy of revitalizing the nation through science and education,promoting sustainable economic  and social development,speeding up the exploitation of human resources and improving the competitiveness of enterprises. In the past 30 plus years of reform and opening up,there is a tremendous development in Chinese vocational education,and at the same time,some pressing problems has arisen gradually: the construction of related system and guarantee system of vocational education and the speed and scale of its development are not the same;too vigorous pursuit of the scale of development results in inadequate quality monitoring;the system of vocational education is still not perfect;school and enterprise cooperation lacks variety,the depth of enterprise involvement being patchy and industrial guidance and monitoring not sufficient etc. We suggest the development of vocational education in China be studied from both the micro and macro perspectives in view of the deficiencies mentioned above.
