Individual Narration of Free Ethics
A Study on Abnormal Love Theme in Western Literature in the 20th Century

Abstract:

Compared with the previous traditional literature works, abnormal love themed novels in the 20th century like Lolita,Lover,The Piano Teacher, present new characteristics: the themes are no longer resistance to the political class or religious ethics; Instead, they reveal the growth trauma of individuals, facing both sides of human nature and the relativity of morality and turning from moral preach to the moral concern. This paper discusses several influential novels with the conclusion that individual narration of free ethics is the core value in the abnormal love themed novels in the 20th century and the root cause of its thriving.
