Abstract: Cross-cultural generation of China image plays an important role in strengthening cultural dialogue and communication between China and foreign countries and telling Chinese stories to the world. The development of Chinese comparative literature has been accompanied by self-reflection of disciplinary discourse. Since the 1920s,many Chinese scholars have described and explained the China image generated in the cultural exchange between China and the West from the relationship between China image and Western historical, social and cultural context. The cultural space in the context of mutual learning of civilizations triggers and awakens modern Chinese scholars’ consciousness as national cultural subjects, prompting them to reflect on traditional academics, broaden their comparative horizons and attach importance to the imaginative construction of others in texts. In the cross-cultural context,Chinese scholars, sticking to the position of Chinese identity, open up a new path of cross-cultural construction of China image in the form of civilized translation, and promote the cross-cultural construction of China image.
