Abstract: With the booming of emerging economic forms such as Uber, Airbnb, Alibaba, and shared bicycles, the theory of sharing economy has become the hot issue in research. Taking Robin Chase's shared economic model of "excessive production capacity + sharing platform + participation of all" as the analytical framework and following the top-level design of China's land system, this paper discusses the feasibility of developing a shared land model in China. At present, the periodic surplus of some agricultural products, and the relative surplus of deserted and idle land in rural areas, have laid a foundation for sharing rural land in China; driven by the rapid development of shared platforms, e-commerce and smart logistics, and the mass entrepreneurship and internet connection, the excess capacity has been further tapped. These advantages make it possible to create relative abundance in a country where the per capita land resources are extremely deficient. However, the inadequacy of operating management such as unclear ownership of farmland, insufficient supervision capacity, and lack of credit awareness have become potential pitfalls in the application of the land sharing model in China.
