Abstract: China's national and governance system has the advantage of mobilizing national resources for major events with overall planning, which is a result of combining the basic principles of Marxism with China's reality. It contains rich internal logic. Mobilizing resources for major events is the contemporary practice of Engels' “theory of historical resultant force”, the summarization of China's experiences of the achievements since the founding of new China, and the means of realizing the modernization of national governance. The leadership of the Party, the concept of development with people as the center, the basic economic system with public ownership as the main body and the traditional Chinese culture are the realistic foundation of mobilizing resources for major events. In order to form a new mechanism to mobilize resources for major events under the condition of socialist market economy, we should adhere to the leadership of the Party, define the scope of major events, set up the scientific, democratic and legal decision-making mechanism, so as to form an implementation mechanism to mobilize the enthusiasm of all parties in society, and the supervision mechanism of decision-making implementation.
