Abstract: With the comprehensive penetration of the Internet into society, it has become the trend of the times for young people to participate in social governance through the Internet. In the prevention and control of the epidemic of Covid-19, the youth spontaneously carry out various activities via the Internet to help fight against the epidemic and achieved remarkable results, which is a breakthrough from their traditional participation in social governance under the guidance of the Communist Youth League and other official organizations. However, problems still exist in the process of youth participation in social governance, such as lack of specific management, low degree of social trust and lack of developmental support. We suggest solving the problems from the three aspects in order for young people to play a better role in social governance in the Internet era, and help social governance innovation and improve national governance efficiency.

Key words: the Internet era, youth, social governance, the Communist Youth League, governance efficiency
