An Analysis of the Changes and Consequences of International Energy Politics After the First Oil Crisis

Abstract: The situation of international politics determines the type of game behavior of participants, and its changes will lead to the change of participants' behavior. The first oil crisis in 1973 highlighted the importance and urgency of energy security, changed the situation of international energy politics after World War Ⅱ, reconstructed the game type of participants, and adjusted the game strategy of international energy political participants. In response to the changed situation of international energy politics, the United States coordinated its energy relations with other countries, set the international agenda of energy security, and finally determined the new international energy order. The situation changes in international energy politics and response of the international society have some enlightenment for China's participation in international energy cooperation.
