Abstract:

It would take much time to use the trial-and-error method introduced for solving the problem of the effect of shear deformation on the bending of a beam in Referrence 1. In particular, it is very difficult for the beginners to use. Here a new solution has been obtained whose concept is clear and deduction is strict. The results obtained are the same as those of trial-and-error method. In order to explain its application, some examples are given in this paper.
