Abstract: The analysis of frequency spectrum is an important link in seismic data processing. The algorithm of FFT(Fast Fourier Transform) is used in the module TRAFO to analyze the frequency spectrum. Its resolution is directly proportional to the length of time window. When the length is smaller than 2000ms, the resolution is too low to be used in processing. A wonderful method of interpolating samples and setting the value of interpolating samples to zero, which makes the resolution higher, is presented in this paper. The resolution of frequency spectrum can certainly meet the needs of the practical processing.
