Abstract: Sierra geophysical system is a powerful software package for oil geophysicalprospecting .In this paper，the detailed techniques and the software structure of Chinese characterization for Sierra system are presented .The key modules modified in Sierra system in order to display Chinese characters are described.Fanally, the evaluation of and comparison between the Sierra and the Chinese Sierra are made
