Abstract: Through the treatment of test data from measuring system efficiency of an oil welt with a pump-ing unit by regression analysis，we obtain the regression equations of flow quantity factor，wasted power in bore ,and surface unit efficiency ,and on its basis discuss the way of reasonably selecting the motor rated power ,of predicting the system efficiency of an oil well with a pumping unit ,and of opti-mally designing the pumping paramctere.
