RELATION BETWEEN STRUCTURE OF ETHENE.VINYLACETATE COPOLYMERS AND THEIR POUR POINT DEPRESSION

Abstract: All kinds of molecule structures of the ethylene-vinyl ace-fate copolymers(EVA) have been synthesized by solution poly-merization. Their crystallinity, solubility and the effect of lower-ing pour point of crude have been studied. Results show that on-1y carbon atoms far from polar group of EVA take part in crystal-
lizing. When carbon number of alkyl chain of EVA, which takes part in crystallizing, is about equal to tbree fourths of average carbon number of wax, the effect of EVA pour point depressants is best. When the average relative molecular mass of EVA is 1 .2 x 10",the effect of EVA is best. The distribution of relative molecular mass has little influence.
