Abstract:

Aiming at the problem of skin effect for induction logging, the authors of this paper adopt the real component or both the real and the imaginary component of the apparent conductivity to achieve the correction of skin effect of composite-coil induction logging measurement signal. The iterative correction is achieved with the iteration of the skin depth. When the real and the imaginary component of the apparent conductivity is used to fulfill iteration, the correction results are almost entirely consistent with the formation conductivity. When the real component is used only, the correction error shows slight increase but it can be improved by using the iteration number. In addition, this method converges within the common range of the earth conductivity.Numerical results indicate that the method is simple in iterative formula, specifically physical meaningful, highly accurate and applicable to various coil system.
