Abstract: In this paper, on the basis of rheological theory, we have discussed the effect of the slurry properties on the mud displacement efficiency in eccentric annulus. Moreover, several equations for calculating thecriticasl gel strength of various slurries have been derived. The results of our test conform to the theoretical analysis.
