Abstract:

A more detailed description is given in this paper of Bryozoan-Coral patch reef of Da Tang age of Carboniferous period of Longping area, which is a smaller platform in a series of isolated carbonate platforms located in Nanpang River area of the Western part of the continental margin fault basin of south China. The sedimentary environment, the development, the framework-building organism, the framework porosity and its distribution, and the growth of the framework-building organisms of the patch reef have been shown in this paper. It has been pointed out that the development of the reef includes four stages, and the fourth development stage of the reef can be further divided into four microfacies.
