Abstract: It is recommended in this paper that logd be substituted for logε in the coefficient A of the formula used at present, which is used to calculate the head loss in trnsition region of turbulent flow in isothermal oil pipelines. According to what is discussed in this paper, the result can be obtained which is high in accuracy.The formula λ=0.11 (68/(Re)+ε) ^(1/4) recommended in Reference (1)is also discussed here in passing. It is pointed out that this formula is not agreeable to the original one, and the rang of pipe diameter available is very narrow and the value of friction factor is a little high for the normal pipelines.
