Abstract:

There are several paleo-hammocks on the erosional surface of Leikoupo Formation in the Central Sichuan-South Sichuan transitional belt. The Xiangqi reservoir may have been originally tilted and edged out as the result of the sedimentation and differential compaction, which may cause to develop small-scale faults and differential compaction fractures, and is helpful to form the space for travel, trap and reservoir in the overlaid beds. Therefore we can predict the existence of the promising reservoir belt in Xiangqi Group beds by looking for the Paleo-hammocks on the erosional surface of the LeikouPo Formation, which has been tested and verified.
