Abstract:

The ROP is increased as hydraulic horsepower per square inch of bit is increased. At the same time, the hydraulic end of pumps. the damageable parts of high pressure circulating system，and the expenses of oil fuel are increased while the useful life of equipment and drilling tool is shortened.Therefore, the principle of hydraulic parameter design is that economic profits obtained from the increment of ROP must be equal to or more than those caused by hydraulic horsepower increment.
