Abstract

Abstract: A synthetic study was carried out on the sources and genesis of gas condensate, light oil and gas in the Putaohua Formation in Gulong area of northern Songliao Basin, using principally light hydrocarbons and biomarkers. Theresults indicate that the oil and gas in the Putaohua Formation in this area are mainly related to highly-mature sapropelic source rocks of Oinshankou Group in Qijia-Gulong Depression, with some of the light oil and gas from
the local contribution of Yaojia Group mudrocks. The formation and distribution of gas condensate reservoirs in the Putaohua Formation are also discussed.
