Abstract: The formation position which is easily to lose circulation has been discussed in this paper, and the calculating methods of kick tolerance in three different conditions are presented. Theoretical analysis and calculated data indicate that the well killing kick tolerance K₃ is much smaller than K₁ (when there is no kick)and K₂ (when there is a kick in the bottom hole).
