Curative Effect Analysis of Elderly Unstable Intertrochanteric Fracture with PFNA

Objective: To evaluate proximal femoral nail anti-rotation（PFNA）in the treatment of unstable intertrochanteric fracture.
Methods: The classifications, operation approachs and post-operative effects were assessed in the 22 patients of intertrochanter fracture of femur treated with PFNA. Results: All cases were followed up from 11 to 26 months after operations（average 13 months）.The post-operative follow-up study showed that all the cases were fracture healed, under the joint scores, 16 cases were excellent （73%）, 4 cases were good （18%）, 2 cases were normal （9%）, the excellent rate was 90.9%. Conclusion: Treatment of elderly unstable intertrochanteric fracture of with PFNA was an ideal approach with simple operation, less trauma, reliable fixation.
