Abstract: In the context of transformation, facing more complex social background and more diverse objectives of talent training, the original personnel cultivation programs and curriculum designs can no longer meet the demand of times, and therefore have to be adjusted accordingly. General education curricula can help promote students' life-long learning and working abilities, so based on the connectionist theory, we should attach importance to and actively construct the general education program in universities. The connectionist model of general education lays emphasis on the multiplicity and unity, which realizes a theme-centered integration of the courses. For successful construction of the curricula, it is necessary to make use of educational resources in all aspects, to establish an integrative educational workshop, and to advance course construction with the joint efforts of interdisciplinary individuals.
Key words: context of transformation, universities, general education curricula, connectionist
