摘要：

简述中国当代著名学者季羡林先生的生平，分析他非凡的外语学习与翻译实践，着重就他有关翻译促进人类社会进步
发展，翻译要忠实和尊重原作，翻译理论要与实践相结合，翻译要注重跨文化交际，以及质量是翻译的核心追求等翻译思想进行探讨。

Abstract:

Briefly introducing the life of Mr. JI Xianlin as a famous contemporary scholar in China, it analyses his extraordinary
experiences of learning foreign languages and translation practice, and mainly explores his thoughts of translation as translation boosting the social development of mankind, translation being fidelity and equivalent to the original works, translation theory research guiding its practice , translation focusing on the cross-culture communication, and quality being the core of translation work.
