Abstract:

Objective: To explore the chemical constituents of Isodon lungshengensis. Methods: Compounds were separated and
purified by silica gel column chromatography and their structures were elucidated on the basis of spectral data and chemical evidences. Results: Four compounds were obtained from petroleum ether fraction of the extract from leaves of I. lungshengensis and identified as lungshengenin E(1), lushanrubescensin C(20), β-sitosterol(3),
and palmitic acid(4). Conclusion: Compound 4 is isolated from this plant for the first time; there is very high amount of β-sitosterol in the petroleum ether fraction.

Key words: Isodon lungshengensis, isolation, diterpenoids, β-sitosterol
