Significance of Preoperative Screening for Infectious Indicators of Digestive Endoscopy

Abstract:

Objective: To explore the digestive endoscopy preoperative 3 (HBsAg, HCV, HIV)screening for infectious indicators.
Methods: 4 356 cases of digestive endoscopy in our hospital from June 2012 to June 2013 patients were carried out the preoperative tests: hepatitis B virus surface antigen(HBsAg), hepatitis C virus antibody(anti-HCV)and human immunodeficiency virus antibody Qi depression (anti-HIV)testing. Results: HBsAg positive rate was 3.72%; anti-HCV positive rate 0.76%; anti-HIV-positive rate 0.09%. Conclusion: Preoperative three digestive endoscopy screenings for infectious indicators can ensure the quality of cleaning and disinfection of endoscopes and medical safety, prevent disputes between doctors and patients, control and prevent nosocomial infections, which are very necessary and meaningful.
