Cooperative Mode of Gerontological Nursing Practice Platform Outside School

Abstract:

Objective: To investigate the feasibility of nursing homes/practice platforms outside school for student to learn and
practice gerontological nursing. Methods: Thirty-one aged people in 5 nursing homes in Dali were visited. The construction and
management of cooperative mode of outside school practice platform were discussed after domestic literature reading. Results: The
following ideas were agreed: rationalizing curriculum structure, building teaching-practice base, selecting and training "standard
patient" in endowment institutions or communities, and forming evaluation systems for teaching effects. Conclusion: Outside school
practice platform could arouse student's learning interest, enhance their professional skills, cultivate their independent thinking and
creativity, strengthen student's social responsibility, and motivate a better teaching effect for gerontological nursing as well.
