Abstract:

Objective: To investigate the effect of ethanol extract from leaves of Gerbera piloselloides on the uterus of rat in vitro.
Methods: Ten mature female but not pregnant SD rats were executed by strike, and uterine horns were used for the rat uterus
segment in vitro. BL-420E+ Biological Functional System was used to record uterine tension, the effect of Gerbera piloselloides
Ethanol Extract on spontaneous contraction and oxytocin-induced contraction of uterus were recorded. Results: The extract could
slow down the uterine contraction frequency and decrease the contraction intensity, and weaken the uterine motility as well.
Conclusion: The ethanol extract of Gerbera piloselloides has significant inhibitive effect on the spontaneous contraction and oxytocininduced
contraction of rat uterus in vitro.
