An Inspection of the Design Style of Chinese Traditional Butterfly Pattern and Its Evolution

Abstract:

Butterfly pattern first appeared in Sui Dynasty with luxurious and realistic style. During Tang, Song and Yuan dynasties,
butterfly pattern developed rapidly. Butterfly patterns mostly were glossy and smart in Tang Dynasty and were dignified, elegant and
colorful in Song dynasties which reflected the characteristics of diversification. During Ming and Qing dynasties, butterfly patterns were
in the periods of prosperity, and the style was exquisite, sophisticated and extremely gorgeous.
