Abstract:

The unity of virtues is an important Greek philosophical issue. For Plato, individual virtues were unified, but civic virtues tended to represent a specific social class. The ambivalent position of unified individual virtues with non-unified civic virtues in Plato's philosophy was due to platonic dualism.
